Bruce Slutsky was born in New York City in 1949. I retired six years ago after working as a Science/Engineering Librarian at the New Jersey Institute of Technology in Newark for 25 years. I was married to Karen until she passed away in February 2021. I have a son Lee who is now 35 years old. I am very much interested in the popular music of the 1960s, especially Bob Dylan and the Beatles. I am interested in rock and roll radio. I am an enthusiastic fan of the New York Mets.
To make a long story short the Mets lost 12 of their last 17 while the Philadelphia Phillies won 13 out of 17 to win the National League East title. It is arguable the worst collapse in baseball history. I arranged my schedule today to be home at 1 PM to be able to watch the entire last game which began with the Florida Marlins scoring 7 runs in the first inning off Tom Glavine. The final score was Florida 8 Mets 1. I'll have to root for the Yankees to go all the way.

Bruce, you don't have to root for the Yankees, you've been through enough heartache with those Muts. Put yourself in position to enjoy the playoffs, jump on the Red Sox Express.
No, you have to root for the Yankees. If you can't beat them, join them. Yankees fans have been mum about your historical collapse. If you don't acknowledge the Yankees as kings of New York, we might have to change our minds.
