Snow Day Today - Sort of

Last night I received an e-mail from NJIT saying that the university would not open until 12 noon today. I gave this some thought and decided not to come in and use vacation time. Over 17 1/2 years the commuting from Flushing to Newark has taken its toll on me. I have reported some horror stories about my trips in this journal. Very often, the train service is very bad the day after a major snow storm. The 7 train usually runs local only and New Jersey Transit service is delayed. When trains are stored outdoors, snow gets into the mechanism which forces them to be taken out of service. This obviously creates problems. I may as well stay home and take it easy.
