The public transportation was good on the New York side of the Hudson, but when I arrived at Penn Station I saw that New Jersey Transit was operating on a greatly reduced schedule. I usually get on the 7:36 or 7:44 train, but I had to wait until 8:14 to depart. When I arrived at Newark Penn Station I saw that the Newark Light Rail was not operating. In the past substitute bus service was provided, but not today. Thus, I had to walk a mile to NJIT in the University Heights section.
Many of my library colleagues still did not have power at home. I really am lucky to have weathered the storm with minimal inconvenience. Tomorrow is another day.
