Victor Maymudes (1935-2001) seen above was Bob Dylan's tour manager at various times during his career. David Hajdu, a musical historian, described Victor as "a keeper of secrets." Victor was a confidant of Dylan, but was fired as Dylan's tour manager in 1995.
In 2000 Victor signed a contract with St. Martin's Press and spoke into a tape recorder for 24 hours. Sadly Victor died of an aneurysm in 2001, but his son Jacob is releasing a book based on these recordings next month. Certainly there have been many biographies of Dylan written over the years, but will this one reveal secrets about the reclusive Mr. Zimmermans? My Facebook friend Scott Warmuth who is a certified Dylan expert seems to have his doubts.
I suggest readers who are Dylan enthusiasts read today's article in the New York Times. In any event this book will be downloaded on my Amazon Kindle on September 9.
