One of the nice things about being retired is being able to attend weekday afternoon games. I have attended 3 such Met games and 1 Yankee game this season. It was sunny and relatively cool today as I headed out to Citi Field with my ticket bought through Stub Hub,
The pitching match was Madison Bumgarner vs Jacob deGrom. All too many times this season de Grom has pitched well for the Mets, but could not get any run support. He struck out 10 in 6 innings while the bullpen fanned 5 more Giants. Pitchers could strike out 27 and still lose the game. The only offense for the Mets was a home run by Todd Frazier in the 7th inning.
