I walked over to the local multiplex today to see Till, one of the few films playing there that is suited for older adults. It is about Emmett Till, a 14-year-old boy, who was killed in Mississippi in 1955 after he whistled at a white woman. The acting, especially by Danielle Deadwyler who played Emmett's mother, was excellent. I highly recommend it.
In 1962 Bob Dylan performed his song the Death of Emmett Till on Cynthia Gooding's Folksinger Choice radio show. This recording appeared on some bootlegs but was not released legally until 2010 Bootleg Series Vol. 9: The Witmark Demos.
