Today's game was #19 in our 20-game package for the season. The Mets were on a roll as they won nine games in a row and had taken over the third and last wildcard position. Luis Severino allowed just one run and five hits in 6 2/3 innings, but the hitting was flat. The Mets only got one run and four hits off six pitchers. Santiago Espinadel hit a tie-breaking, two-run double in the ninth inning to lift the Cincinnati Reds to a 3-1 victory. Since the Atlanta Braves defeated the Toronto Blue Jays today, the Mets and Braves are now tied for the final wildcard position. The Mets will face the Braves for a crucial during the last week of the season.
