Bob Uecker passed away today at age 90. Major League Baseball posted a detailed obituary. There is also a biography of him written by Eric Aron of SABR. He certainly did not distinguish himself as a backup catcher during his MLB career from 1962-67 as he batted only .200 for his career. He is best known for his career as a broadcaster for the Milwaukee Brewers, but appeared on late-night TV, starred in a popular series of Miller Lite commercials, acted in the ABC sitcom “Mr. Belvedere” and in the “Major League” film trilogy.
I thought my readers would enjoy this Miller Lite commercial.
